First Sod Turned On New St Vincent de Paul Outlet, Sanctuary Point NSW

Construction commenced in December 2004 on the new St Vincent de Paul outlet at Sanctuary Point, NSW.

Carole Nelson (pictured) was given the honour of turning the first sod in a small ceremony witnessed by both St Vincent de Paul volunteers and local residents.

Mr Ivor Davies, St Vincent de Paul’s Project Manager, spoke at the ceremony, saying that the new facilities were “long awaited” and “the community is very excited about the project”.

The new premises will include retail areas, sorting and storage areas and interview facilities.

It is anticipated that the project will be completed in May 2005.  Project value $480k
