Norman Park State School, QLD

Thursday January 1, 2004

Project Coordination’s Queensland Division was recently awarded the contract to construct a new General Learning Area (GLA) at Norman State School.

The new GLA will provide an additional teaching facility to meet the increase in student intake at this inner city school.

The building will be constructed over the existing netball court and its first floor will be about five metres above the ground level with a link back to an adjacent GLA. The undercroft area can be converted into additional teaching areas at a later date.

The architecture of the new building consists of a parabolic roof, central skylight and sympathetic detailing to match the existing buildings at the school.

The new building is anticipated to be completed by the end of November 2004.  Project value $3.2m
