On 15 September 2003 the Minister for Public Works and Housing, Robert Schwarten, officially opened the housing development at North Street, Southport.

Approximately 64 apprentices, who were trained and supported by subcontractors during the course of the works, constructed the complex comprising 12 one-bedroom apartments.
