Construction is complete on the $55 million luxury apartment complex adjacent to Parliament House.
The development is built on a perpendicular axis from the grand and dignified St Andrew’s church. The geometry of the architecture was created to reflect the characteristics of the area – from the concentric circles to the striking lines of Parliament House itself. There are 91 apartments spread across one three-storey and two four-level apartment blocks over a shared basement.
No two residences are the same and every single apartment is fitted out like a penthouse including state of the art appliances, premium finishes and a private wine cellar. Every single apartment also offers views to Canberra’s most iconic landmarks or landscapes.
Design development and construction of twenty Seniors Living Units in three buildings with elevator access, secure basement car parking and storage.
The project provides a high benchmark for the provision of social housing for seniors in NSW. The construction is of the highest standard and the design provides an outstanding quality of life outcome for residents. The structure is robustly constructed for low life-cycle cost and easy maintenance. The buildings are concrete framed with brick external walls and metal deck roofing and cladding.
The interiors are light and provide a comfortable living space whilst being easy to look after.
The external works and landscaping provides a pleasant living atmosphere for residents.
The Bradfield is Stage 1 of a new Community Housing Canberra Development located in Downer consisting of 37 two-storey townhouses split across four separate buildings.
Each home has either 2 or 3 bedrooms, and every home contains an ensuite, garage and generous 2.4 metre entry doors. The development includes architectural features such as 25 steel framed window boxes creating a “pop out” effect, and 12 two-story steel framed “eyebrows” framing the top floor balconies. The landscaping features permeable paving and corten feature mowing strips.
Completed in March 2018, Urbane Townhouses comprises 40 two storey spacious and contemporary townhouses with an industrial feel. The townhouses, separated into eight blocks, are all two storey and are a mix of two, three and four bedrooms, with double garages or carports.
The design focus was to create affordable high-end dwellings with an emphasis on well planned and highly functional spaces.
Thoughtful site planning allowed for the townhouses to generally address the street and feature individual entrances, with half of the residences assigned individual street addresses and numbering. All townhouses feature north facing living spaces and courtyards to maximize natural light and solar passive benefits.
The result is a contemporary and high quality development, with a design that activates street frontages and is welcoming in its scale.
