The project involved completely refurbishing the existing first floor to form a flexible new function centre.  The existing roof structure was modified in sections to allow a more open space to be created.  Extensive use of both timber veneer and fabric wrapped panelling throughout the function centre provides a luxurious feeling to the auditorium.  The existing kitchen was totally refurbished and new bar facilities provided.  Curved walls and coffered ceilings have been used throughout to eliminate the squareness of the existing building envelope.  A new goods lift was also installed at the back of the existing kitchen.

Different size function rooms can be achieved by moving the acoustic wall system into a substantial range of room configurations.
