Australian War Memorial Galleries Refurbishment

Client Australian War Memorial
Location Campbell ACT
Value $10m
Year 1998
Delivery Lump Sum

A complex series of refurbishments to a number of galleries within the AMW. The refurbishments required the gutting of the area back to basic structural elements and the provision of new state of the art building engineering services, new inter and intra gallery wall, ceilings, floor coverings, associated joinery and display structures. This was a lump sum contract with predetermined completion dates.

To provide additional floor space for exhibitions the existing masonry walls were underpinned with structural steel. Changing the roof steel allowed exhibits to be suspended from the roof structure.
