Becker House is a heritage-listed building and is of great importance as a national landmark.  The scope of works included construction of a new external plant room, design and construction of a new tunnel under the existing moat from the plant room to the existing basement of Becker House and associated plant upgrades

INNOVATION:

The service tunnel was originally designed as a crawling tunnel. Project Coordination excavated under the moat from the external plant room to the basement wall of the internal plant room and formed a void under the moat that was battered back to a stable slope.  This part of the project was carried out as design and construct.
