The Company secured this project because of its striking design that, in plan, is based on the shape of an Australian Rules football – the sport around which the parent club (Eastlake Football Club) was founded.  The building was constructed on a difficult site and consisted of a new building incorporating a restaurant, function room, children’s play area, sports bar, general bar, kitchens and gaming areas.  Subsequently, the Company constructed an outdoor eating area. The roof is particularly complex due to the shape of the building.

INNOVATION:

The shape of the building is its most innovative feature.  It required a major and minor spline wall so that the uniting of two faceted roofs could be achieved an orderly and architecturally pleasing manner. The Club was also impressed by the open plan nature of the facility that is eye-catching immediately upon entering the building.
