The construction of the Honours Precinct Project involved the relocation of the buildings occupants, demolition of two existing buildings and the construction of two new buildings to accommodate the operations of the Honours Secretariat.  Whilst the project is defined as a precinct, the actual construction comprised two steel framed, Comtex clad, Acratex rendered, metal deck roofed single storey buildings located on the western side of the Government House site.  The floor area of building one is 820m² and building two is 271m².

 

INNOVATION:

The building site was orientated to achieve maximum solar benefits.  The building also included a number of environmental innovations such as double glazed panels, solar hot water, chilled beam climate control, window switched isolators to control HVAC and soil drip irrigation.
