The construction of the new Schofields Zone Substation incorporates cable basement, transmission conduit, ring road, control room, switch room, transformer bunds, perimeter fencing, earthing grid installation, overhead crane, landscaping and staff amenities facilities on a 9,000m2 greenfield site.

The 1,200m2 building is designed to blend with neighbouring residential properties through use of face brick construction, aluminium louvers and architectural windows.

Extensive excavation was required to approx. 8m deep from natural ground level to achieve subgrade of basement level.
