Tuggeranong Hyperdome Anketell Boulevard Extension
The project consisted of an extension to the Hyperdome’s existing main entrance. The extension comprises of nine restaurants, bars, cafes and amenities on the ground floor and office space totalling 1200sqm on the first floor. Externally new landscaping, road realignment and crossing works were carried out to complement the new extension. The Hyperdome had to remain in operation throughout the construction period and access was required through the construction site to the shopping centre at all times. Out of hours work was a critical component in the delivery of a smooth project.
INNOVATION:
As a result of time and space restrictions the project team in conjunction with the Client changed some of the finishes to allow the sequence of building works to happen concurrently. These included changing the external cladding system to a faster and more economic procedure with an equally high standard of finish. Landscaping materials were changed to allow the landscaping around the external perimeter to commence before the scaffold was removed from against the building’s façade.
AWARDS:
Nominated for the 2008 MBA Awards for Excellence in the Category of Project Exhibiting Technical Difficulty or Innovation.
